Hi. I’m Laurie.
I’m a freelance illustrator, fascinated by little details, who enjoys drawing objects in pencil before adding selective colour, pattern, texture and collage.
I’m also an occupational therapist, enabling people to do the things they want or need to do (whilst supporting myself to do the same).
This unconventional mix offers a unique skill set, with strengths in communication, research, idea generation and problem solving. Drawing on these, I create work for commission, retail and exhibition, and lead creative workshops.
I aspire to participate in projects that ultimately help people, be that through therapeutic activity or by visually communicating a difficult subject. I also embrace those that link to my professional* interests, which include wellbeing, dementia and reminiscence.
*My less-professional interests include dinosaurs, cacti, electronic-y-beats and cutlery…
